Cigdem Lule,  Do you speak Gemology? Challenges in nomenclature, influences by commerce, treatment disclosure and how this can mislead gemmologists, dealers and the consumer


John Chapman. Synthetic Diamonds; Advances and Safeguards. Developments, prevalence on the market and options to detect them.


Cigdem Lule. Garnets: the Past and the Present. Let’s explore garnets with their complex structure in context of mineralogy, archaeology, and modern gemmology.

Cigdem will bring a general treatment set (200 stones) and teach gem treatments update class.

Understanding structure of each gem helps with ID process. Primary features of natural and treated. Why and How treatments are applied. Types of treatment and keys to detection. Nomenclature issues, challenges and links to treatments.
